A taste elegance with a beat, swing and more:-- The White Heat Swing Orchestra is nationally renowned as one of the top swing bands in the U.S. today. It has recorded for Walt Disney Pictures and Warner Brothers, backed up Norah Jones and Tony Bennett. In addition to high energy swing music, WHSO has great vocal artists who sing the Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald repertoire plus Latin, Ballroom and Salsa. White Heat Swing Orchestra's unique four-to-the-floor high energy swing style has made it a hit with college and university audiences. Parents and grandparents appreciate its recognizable swing era repertoire. Wedding reception clients include members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Rockefellers, movie stars, and international and political luminaries. WHSO is on the recommended list at historic mansions such at the Lyman Estate and the Gamble Mansion, and the Chatham Bars Inn. Contemporary recorded dance music can be provided along with the band at no extra cost for added variety. WHSO has smaller ensembles ranging from 4 to 7 musicians, while the full band runs from 10 to 14 musicians. Costs vary with band size and location. A CD and additional information is available on request --just provide a mailing address. Member Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau Boston Magazine's "Best Dance Band" award PERFORMED IN CONCERT WITH: "BOSTON'S BEST DANCE BAND" BOSTON MAGAZINE Back Bay Rhythm Makers The White Heat Swing Orchestra was a pioneer in the revival of swing and lindy in the 90's. It performed for nearly two million fans at Boston night club, the Roxy, over four years, and was the first swing big band to receive Boston Magazine's "Best Dance Band" award. It backed up Tony Bennett and Cab Calloway at the Roxy, and recorded for Warner Brothers and Walt Disney. CBS News Tonight described leader, Craig Ball, as a "kind of Benny Goodman for the Nineties". WHSO was featured at Lincoln Center, New York in July of 2001, where recent Grammy Award winner, Norah Jones was our guest vocalist. White Heat Swing Orchestra is neither a nostalgia group or a blues band dressed up as a swing group. It is staffed with nationally recognized jazz musicians, features great jazz solos, and infuses a millennial energy into its four-to-the-floor 1940s beat. It has been popular at under grad dances at many of New England's universities and colleges, and travels nationwide for receptions and major corporate events. Featured each summer at the five-star Boston Harbor Hotel with sold-out attendance and jammed dance floors. |
